Peter notices a letter sticking out of Lara’s pocket as she prepares to leave, and he quickly grabs it. Peter snatches the book from Lara’s hands and begins reading it in front of her, despite Lara’s efforts to stop him. There was a time when Lara and Peter were a couple, but their relationship ended after they had a falling out. Letter of apology is sincere, and he admits to still having feelings for her. They decide to get back together.
They have a bumpy start to their relationship. Lara Jean is concerned about Peter’s relationship with his ex and Lara’s ex-friend Genevieve, who is now engaged to Peter. Their relationship is strained due to Peter’s position.
